Listen to Leave A Scar

So who am I and what’s this all about? Great Q, you.

I’m a former “shy kid” who was homeschooled and raised by a God fearing woman from Hungary and a desert rat from Arizona. Fourth born out of a litter of six with freckled skin paler than the full moon on a Sunday - I identified with the story my mother quoted often, you know the one, it’s called The Ugly Duckling. Imagination and creativity were my drugs of choice, an escape from the less good parts of life (along with a healthy obsession with horses). While cinema and acting will always occupy the nicest room in my heart house, music is the language I’ve learned in order to commune with the spirit world…the world of magical things, miracles, ancient knowledge, the stuff that gives you chills and makes you wanna cry. I think ideas are conscious creatures, floating around in the aether, waiting for a human to invite them in for collaboration. I have learned to listen for the whispers, and (if I’m lucky) do the work to see it through and put it into the world where it belongs. In your ears. Behind your eyelids. If that’s something you’re looking for, of course. When I’m not writing, producing, or performing, I’m taking care of horses, goats, chickens, cats and my husband (and creative-partner/producer) Ryan on a farm somewhere in Florida. Thanks for stopping by and if you’d like to listen to my debut album Leave A Scar, I’d appreciate it like a hound dog appreciates a soft bed and a bone to chew on.

Love,

Myakka
